Lansing’s best American food: Greater Lansing Food Championship podcast – Round 1 – Lansing State Journal

Tuesday was the premiere episode of the Greater Lansing Food Championship podcast, where State Journal staffers will determine the best individual menu item from a Lansing restaurant in a knockout-style tournament similar to the NCAA basketball tourney.

In the first episode, we picked four food items from local Mexican restaurants to advance to the Sweet 16. In this latest episode, host Phil Friend is joined by reporters Craig Lyons and Kara Berg as they chow down on food from eight American restaurants and select four to move on.

The matchups:

  • (2) Soup Spoon – Lunch Voodoo Pasta vs. (7) Weston’s Kewpee Sandwich Shop
